June already???

I cant believe its June already, May went by too fast. Sorry I haven’t posted in awhile things have been crazy.

I planed a trip to disney on mothers day week end and we ended up taking my in-laws with us. Which by the way was good and bad. Good because my in-laws were able to help out with patrick, the bad is my mother in-laws can be crazy and kinda judging at times.

Dont get me wrong I love my mother in law (I do really) but at times she can be alot to handle. My mother in law is a Italian women who grew up in Bronx Ny… That right there should tell you alot! She means well when it comes to telling me what to do with my own child (she does) but it really does get irratating after awhile, but I am sure that I am not the only one with.this issue!

Anyways beyond getting on each others nerves we had a good time and I had a great mothers day and we also got our first family photo!

In may, I also read the whole trilogy of the hunger games which by the way was awesome. I couldnt put the books down! Also I watched the movie too and it wasnt as good as the books but I did enjoy it and now I am excited that the next movie is coming out soon!

Now since patrick is turning one I will be planing his first birthday, I think I will now cry, it came to fast! Why did it have to go by so fast? Oh and he now has four teeth two top and two bottom both in the front. He is growing up too fast I wish he would slow down just a little bit, PLEASE?

Anyways since my son loves Thomas and Friends, his bithday theme this year is going to be Thomas the train. I have decided this year that I am going to make most of the decorations, which I never really do. I am excited to see how it comes out!

How to make a baby!

Thought this was cute and had to share!

For Special occasions!

My mother taught me to read when I was four years old (her first mistake). One day, I was in the bathroom and noticed one of the cabinet doors was ajar. I read the box in the cabinet. I then asked my mother why she was keeping ‘napkins’ in the bathroom. Didn’t they belong in the kitchen? Not wanting to burden me with unnecessary facts, she told me that those were for “special occasions” (her second mistake).

Now fast forward a few months….It’s Thanksgiving Day, and my folks are leaving to pick up my uncle and his wife for dinner. Mom had assignments for all of us while they were gone. Mine was to set the table. When they returned, my uncle came in first and immediately burst into laughter. Next in came his wife who gasped, and then began giggling. Next in came my father, who roared with laughter. Finally in came Mom, who almost died of embarrassment when she saw each place setting on the table with a “special occasion” napkin at each plate, with the fork carefully arranged on top. I had even tucked the little tail in so they didn’t hang off the edge!! My mother asked me why I used these and, of course, my response sent the other adults into further fits of laughter. But, Mom, you SAID they were for special occasions!!!”

Stopping Breastfeeding Accomplished

It has been 8 days since I started to ween Patrick off of breast milk !

I am so proud of my baby boy, He took it like a champ too hardly any fussing about it or anything. I guess giving him the bottles threw  out the day and slowly weening him off of it helped. He is also sleeping more in his bed and sleeping longer threw the night! yey! Just wanted to give a quick update that he is fully weened off of breast milk!!!!

Happy Friday: Giving Back By Donating Milk

Aww… great story!

Sent from reader, Megan:

Our 3rd baby boy was born 2.5 months early in November. In spite of all that we went through over the course of his 11 weeks in the NICU, we are so blessed to have him. I breastfed my other 2 boys and wanted to provide this new little miracle with the same start, so I began pumping as soon as possible after the emergency c-section. At first the baby was on IV nourishment and when he started getting my milk through an oral-gastric tube it was less than a teaspoon each day.

Although I was initially concerned that I wouldn’t be able to establish an adequate milk supply using only a pump, I soon filled up the freezer at my house…and then the industrial size freezer in the NICU! When I realized that I would need somewhere to put all that milk when our baby…
