Kids In school!

sorry its been awhile since I have written anything, but its been crazy lately.

As you Know Anna has been going to vpk for awhile now. Her school already has had two big days filled with fun for the kids. A farm day where they got to dress up as Farmers and Petted real animals. A Farmers Market Day where kids bring food in to school and the teachers get to make a stand to put the food in to sell.

Growing up my mother has always been going to my School to volunteer for any activity that the school was doing or was hosting, so I never thought twice when Anna started going to school about volunteering when there is something going on at her school. I guess her school is not use to Kids Parents volunteering because they were extremely happy for me to help. But my Problem is, Is that I was the only one to help,

what has this world come to? is’t children our future? dont you want them to succeed in life? how is that possible when the parents put everything on the teachers? Dont get me wrong yes I know that its their job to teach and mold our children but how are they going to do that without the help of the kids’ Parents?

when the children are babies do we not teach them to sit up, crawl, walk? how is this any different? my daughter knew the Alphabet, how to count to 100, and even knew how to Add numbers and spell her name before she even went to school. I know that a lot of parents are busy and cant just sit down with their kids and teach them, yes I know your not teachers but I thinks its Important to sit down with your kids when they are doing their homework just to get the feel of what they are learning period. yes grant it I am a SAHM but that really shouldn’t make a difference.

Yes I know that over the years a lot has changed when it comes to what the children learn in school and when they learn it, but I still think that we should help our kids succeed and help them build a great future, we might need to count on them one day, you never know!

This is how i suck!

Ok to let everyone know how I suck, (no not that kinda suck) lol. I broke my toe yesterday getting out of the backseat of my car after putting my son in the car.

Its crazy how it happened, me and my son went to Walmart yesterday to get my sons (big boy) carseat, A front facing seat. Which they almost didn’t give me because my name wasn’t on the pick up label ,we did site to store. Ok let me refraise that and say my mother-in-law did it. Don’t get me wrong she bought the damn thing and i don’t think she has ever done it before but i was a little annoyed that she put it under my hubby’s name and not mine knowing i was probably the one who was going to get it!

Anyways, that lady was like just remember next time to put both names on it, and she gave it to me then we went and payed for the rest of our stuff (can you believe i only spent $25 at walmart usually that is impossible) since i live in florida the weather can be nice and sunny to storming and in instant, which is what happened by the time i got to the car and put my son in his seat.

It was crazy I heard this boom sound then all of a sudden everything (including his new car seat) was getting wet in the cart, and since I have a two door car, its hard to get in and out of my car fast. So I ended up getting my toe caught in the drivers seat belt and instantly I knew it was broken.

So i got everything in the car and drove to my daughters school on my broken toe (of course my broken toe was on my right foot) so i cried the whole way to my daughters school. I got to her school and called my hubby and told him I broke my toe (luckily his work is 5 seconds away from my daughters school so he walked to her school and drove me to the ER.

What sucks is that before we went to Walmart, i was suppose to take my son to the doctors because he woke up tuesday with a fever of 103 but when i got there they said that his medicaid wasn’t active (WTF?) so yeah I had a crappy week! Hope it gets better!

This in my house is so true!

As a stay at home mom, I am the one who is with the kids the most. my hubby works but even when he is home, I am still the one who takes care of them. Don’t get me wrong, I love my kids and my hubby. But I rarely ever take time for myself, Its not that I can’t its just that I don’t. I am not going to lie, Its not so fun at times. (definitely when they are sick and have fevers) Like my son who had a 103.5 fever and no other symptoms, luckily it went down and everything went back to normal. well at least I thought it did, poor baby, I am going to take him to the doctors. hope he is ok.

25 things your mother should of told you!

1. Take your bananas apart when you get home from the store. If you leave them connected at the stem, they ripen faster.

2. Store your opened chunks of cheese in aluminum foil. It will stay fresh much longer and not mold!

3. Peppers with 3 bumps on the bottom are sweeter and better for eating. Peppers with 4 bumps on the bottom are firmer and better for cooking.

4. Add a teaspoon of water when frying ground beef. It will help pull the grease away from the meat while cooking.

5. To really make scrambled eggs or omelets rich add a couple of spoonfuls of sour cream, cream cheese, or heavy cream in and then beat them up.

6. For a cool brownie treat, make brownies as directed. Melt Andes mints in double broiler and pour over warm brownies. Let set for a wonderful minty frosting.

7. Add garlic immediately to a recipe if you want a light taste of garlic and at the end of the recipe if your want a stronger taste of garlic.

8. Leftover snickers bars from Halloween make a delicious dessert. Simply chop them up with the food chopper. Peel, core and slice a few apples. Place them in a baking dish and sprinkle the chopped candy bars over the apples. Bake at 350 for 15 minutes!!! Serve alone or with vanilla ice cream. Yummm!

9. Reheat Pizza
Heat up leftover pizza in a nonstick skillet on top of the stove, set heat to med-low and heat till warm. This keeps the crust crispy. No soggy micro pizza. I saw this on the cooking channel and it really works.

10. Easy Deviled Eggs
Put cooked egg yolks in a zip lock bag. Seal, mash till they are all broken up. Add remainder of ingredients, reseal, keep mashing it up mixing thoroughly, cut the tip of the baggy, squeeze mixture into egg. Just throw bag away when done easy clean up.

11. Expanding Frosting
When you buy a container of cake frosting from the store, whip it with your mixer for a few minutes. You can double it in size. You get to frost more cake/cupcakes with the same amount. You also eat less sugar and calories per serving.

12. Reheating refrigerated bread
To warm biscuits, pancakes, or muffins that were refrigerated, place them in a microwave with a cup of water. The increased moisture will keep the food moist and help it reheat faster.

13. Newspaper weeds away
Start putting in your plants, work the nutrients in your soil. Wet newspapers, put layers around the plants overlapping as you go. Cover with mulch and forget about weeds. Weeds will get through some gardening plastic they will not get through wet newspapers.

14. Broken Glass
Use a wet cotton ball or Q-tip to pick up the small shards of glass you can’t see easily.

15. No More Mosquitoes
Place a dryer sheet in your pocket. It will keep the mosquitoes away.

16. Squirrel Away!
To keep squirrels from eating your plants, sprinkle your plants with cayenne pepper. The cayenne pepper doesn’t hurt the plant and the squirrels won’t come near it.

17. Flexible vacuum
To get something out of a heat register or under the fridge add an empty paper towel roll or empty gift wrap roll to your vacuum. It can be bent or flattened to get in narrow openings.

18. Reducing Static Cling
Pin a small safety pin to the seam of your slip and you will not have a clingy skirt or dress. Same thing works with slacks that cling when wearing panty hose. Place pin in seam of slacks and … guess what! … static is gone.

19. Measuring Cups
Before you pour sticky substances into a measuring cup, fill with hot water. Dump out the hot water, but don’t dry cup. Next, add your ingredient, such as peanut butter, and watch how easily it comes right out. (Or spray the measuring cup or spoon with Pam before using)

20. Foggy Windshield?
Hate foggy windshields? Buy a chalkboard eraser and keep it in the glove box of your car When the windows fog, rub with the eraser! Works better than a cloth!

21. Re-opening envelopes
If you seal an envelope and then realize you forgot to include something inside, just place your sealed envelope in the freezer for an hour or two. Viola! It unseals easily.

22. Conditioner
Use your hair conditioner to shave your legs. It’s cheaper than shaving cream and leaves your legs really smooth. It’s also a great way to use up the conditioner you bought but didn’t like when you tried it in your hair.

23. Goodbye Fruit Flies
To get rid of pesky fruit flies, take a small glass, fill it 1/2′ with Apple Cider Vinegar and 2 drops of dish washing liquid; mix well. You will find those flies drawn to the cup and gone forever!

24. Get Rid of Ants
Put small piles of cornmeal where you see ants. They eat it, take it ‘home,’ can’t digest it so it kills them. It may take a week or so, especially if it rains, but it works and you don’t have the worry about pets or small children being harmed!

25. Dryer Filter
Even if you are very diligent about cleaning the lint filter in your dryer it still may be causing you a problem. If you use dryer sheets a waxy build up could be accumulating on the filter causing your dryer to over heat. The solution to this is to clean your filter with with a toothbrush and hot soapy water every 6 months.
